A whole lot of us would rather see the Metal Gear series retire with Kojima's departure. There's a lot of hate for Konami specifically too; short of revealing that Metal Gear Survive was actually a front for Metal Gear Solid 6, with Kojima involved all along, I don't think Konami could do anything to mitigate that.
